HOW TO GAIN INFORMATION ON EACH WEST VIRGINIA INMATE

  • Visit the West Virginia Division of Correction. The WV Division of Corrections supports an online offender search which is updated regularly. To begin a search, enter at least the first three numbers from the offender’s DOC Number or the first three letters of both their first and last name. The West Virginia corrections site is set-up for inmates that are under active supervision, in prison or on parole status only, with WVDOC. Those that have discharged or have moved from the custody of the WVDOC will NOT appear in the search. If you receive the following message, “There was a problem with your search, please try again” this indicates the offender is no longer in WVDOC custody.
  • To locate those West Virginia inmates, who  who are not under supervision of the WVDOC (West Virginia County Jail Inmates), firstly you may visit our directory of West Virginia counties with online access to their inmate records on this website.
  • If the appropriate county doesn’t offer online access, you might consider to get in touch with the appropriate sheriff’s office or even county correctional facility to receive the information in person, by mail, or by phone. Therefore you may visit the West Virginia State and Local Government on the Web website for further information.
