HOW TO GAIN INFORMATION ON EACH SOUTH CAROLINA PRISONER

  • Visit the South Carolina Department of Corrections SCDC website. The South Carolina Dept of Corrections offers an online inmate search feature and the toll-free inmate information line (877-846-3472) as a public service to interested citizens. While SCDC strives to ensure the accuracy of this information, it makes no guarantees as to the reliability of the data. The inmate search feature displays photographs and public information on inmates currently sentenced to and incarcerated in the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC). The “inmate search” does not provide information for offenders released from SCDC, sentenced to county detention facilities, or those under parole, probation, or other community supervision.
  • To locate a South Carolina inmate within the SC county jails and/or city Jail (SC County Jail Inmates, who are NOT under the supervision of the South Carolina Dept of Correction), please visit our directory of  South Carolina counties with online access to their inmate records on this website. However, at this time, not every county or sheriff offers access to online inmate records.
  • If you can’t locate a South Carolina inmate this way, it may be necessary to get in touch with the appropriate sheriff’s office or even the county correctional facility to receive the information in person, by mail, or by phone. For further information and contact information, you may start at the directory of South Carolina County Websites.
